Hello,
How are you?
First, let’s get it out of the way - yes, I have a birthday week. No one else agrees that I have a whole week but that doesn’t not stop me making claims to it, like a guy climbing a mountain and sticking a flag in the top of it. ‘Mine now.’
Anyhow, let’s stop with the nonsense (if I only I could) and let us actually get to today’s letter.
My partner passed his driving test at the end of last year so we could go on an adventure, even with my injured foot. And by adventure I mean we went 13 miles from our house. Adventure!
We went to Ladybower Reservoir, somewhere I definitely went on a school trip to but have not been to for a very long time because I can’t drive. I tried once and it was the most anxiety inducing thing I have ever done. Also, I like looking out of windows and going “Look! Sheep!” which, if I was driving, could be quite calamitous.
Anyway, here are some nice photos from our walk. Enjoy!
Could you live here? I imagine the views are spectacular but I would have to go for one of the houses a little further away than the house right on the reservoir. Water actually really freaks me out so I wouldn’t sleep if I lived in that one!
These are called the ‘bellmouths’ or the ‘plugholes’. They are drains which keep the water levels in Ladybower Reservoir regulated, with the excess water to flow down through tunnels into the River Derwent.
Thank you so much for reading. As always, if you did enjoy it , please give it a like, leave me a comment or reply to this email. And please give it a share or a restack. It would mean a lot. Thank you. 🖤
I hope you have a lovely week.
Take care of yourself,
Becky
